The reception team decided to make an
introductory video for the seminar class. Since this was
my fist attempt to make a video, it was very interesting
to be the one to play the main role in the video. All
of my friends liked the video very much and told me that
it was very creative and entertaining. I was not sure
that they all understood what it really meant.
The team had lunch with the guest
speaker in Seas Bay Beach Resort. We asked him what his
favorite food was before selecting a restaurant. During
lunch, we discussed army life and other topics. There
was a bit of a dilemma during lunch since we had to
decide as a team if we should keep the discussion going
to avoid a "cold" atmosphere or to stop the conversation
so that he could eat his lunch.
Before the speech began, he told me there was a video
file in his PowerPoint file, but it couldn't be opened
and played. I was glad that I could help to solve this
problem by fixing the video hyperlink for him.
During the speech, I controlled his
slideshow presentation. I was very nervous and excited
to do this because he did not really give me a clear
hint when the slides should be changed. I had to listen
to his talk very carefully to know when he wanted the
slides to be changed. Luckily, the speaker was British
and his pronunciation was very clear. I was able to
understand him very well.
After the speech, I helped to clean
up the classroom with my teammates; and then, the
speaker and my other teammates had a tea break. The
reception team experience was so great that I would like
to try it again. By the way, I think if the speaker
came alone rather than with his assistant, I would have
more chances to practice English speaking. |
